About Us
My love for jewelry started with found treasures. I collected tiny semi-precious pebbles on a local beach and found discarded copper wires from the telephone company and I peeled off the rubber coating. By the time my first child was born jewelry had become a huge part of my identity. My daughter broke so many necklaces in the first few months of her life but I could not bare to be without necklaces. I set out to make one that was strong enough that I could wear it while caring for her and wouldn’t be ruined if I absentmindedly stepped into the shower while wearing it. I made the first set of links that held up in 2010 (the year she was born).
I wore the same two sets of links with several different chain styles for two or three years before coming up with a simpler design I could easily reproduce myself in the tiny dinette that became my makeshift office in our home in Pasadena. I posted some pictures that a friend had taken in a local parenting group and orders started pouring in. I quickly incorporated Lullaby Links and the rest, as they say, is history.
I did not expect the links to have a soothing effect on my daughter or I when I initially started making them. I just wanted her to have something other than my nose for her to tug on and to be able to wear jewelry again! In the first five years of offering Lullaby Links I heard over and over again how the jewelry was not only soothing to the littles ones playing with them in the arms of their caregivers but also the adults wearing them! I have always personally sought out things with different textures and sensations to soothe my own nerves but I had no idea how common that was among other adults and children.
In the end of 2018 I launched a second brand, Fancy Fidget, to focus on adults wearing the jewelry I make for soothing themselves! I see people using jewelry to fidget with all the time but having pieces that are made for fidgeting is both relatively new and still fairly limited. I am excited about this new endeavor. It also feels perfectly natural as my own kids and many of my original customers’ kids are no longer very little ones. Lullaby Links will always be focused on families with little ones and there are some designs that will remain exclusive to Lullaby Links but most of the design will be shared between the two.
Each of the brands have their own shops and there are also special offers for semi-custom pieces that will be announced in the News sections of both websites as well as on the social media platforms. The brands also have a community group on Facebook called LLaFF & Chat and a secondhand sales group called Linklette Coop. We would love to have you in both groups and are always happy to answer any questions you may have there.
Thank you for reading my story!
